Happy Monday friends! I know I am not the only one who was momming like it was my job this weekend- oh wait, it is my job!! This weekend I was just hanging around my own house, minding my own business with the kiddos and my mom. And I will have you know I was seriously self-conscious about my feet… in my own house, y’all! I ran and grabbed some products to rectify the situation and thought, I should share! Now, SPOILER ALERT, I am about to go through this whole post on a quickie drugstore pedicure. But here’s the real deal, sister. You totally deserve to sit in that oversized massage chair, you know the one that just about throws you out of your seat but feels so wonderful, yeah that one! You have earned the right to spend an hour having a stranger rub your feet, and your unshaved legs. I know, I know, you have been in yoga pants, so what was the point, until this very awkward moment? And now you’re having flashbacks of the conversation that was beat into your head about always wearing pant in the car because for heaven sake what if you were in a wreck and had to get out of the car pantsless- or was it shoes.. I digress! The bottom line is this, the feet that haul your tired body around + the load of your kid that physically went limp walking up the drive way and proceed to throw a fit because they are too tired for this, totally deserve to look better than a cross breed between Edward Scissor-toes and an alligator. So, if you have the opportunity, if your mom, your sister, your friend, if anyone offers you an hour of solace, take it! If your boss even hints that you may can leave an hour early, go with it! Run your tired feet to the nail salon, close your eyes, and let someone serve YOU! But, in the occurrence, that luxury hour is not an option, I bring you my drugstore pedi!
It is abosolutley not a secret that kids are totally invasive. I say that with all the love in my heart, that is just the truth. I cannot shower, potty, eat, or pick a dang wedgie without one or all of my kids literally attached to me. All of that to say, whatever kind of pampering us moms plan to do at home, better be quick! I will be honest, I did not have the total home spa experience with this one. My drugstore pedi consisted of the products I am about to share with you + a large Tupperware bowl with warm water and two dish towels sitting in the middle of the din while the boys worked relentlessly at putting their puzzle pieces in my feet water. I mean seriously the fun is abundant?!
Soak those puppies. As I was hustling through the drug stores rounding up my products, I decided to give Soap & Glory a go. I used one of their Fizz-A-Ball. Side note, if you too are using a dinner bowl for this process, using a small fizz ball will work a bit better, especially since… we are in a hurry!
Scrub scub scrub. A simple sugar scrub is all you need! I used Soap & Glory Smoothie Breakfast Scrub. I didnt focus on a foot scrub just because I am all about re-purposing, so obvi a general body scrub was the way to go!
Apply the mask! Confession, I have never actually used a foot mask. But, I found Oh K! Stimulating Foot Essence and it did the job! This little box comes with the moisturizing gel + two booties. Super easy, no heating up wax, because…. we are in a hurry! Confession two of this step, I did not leave the socks on for the full hour required. But they did keep my kids entertained and intrigued , so I probably could have managed the full hour, I am just impatient.
Give those babies a good rub down. Granted, it never feel quite as good when you have to do the work yourself (refer to paragraph uno), but Soap & Glory’s Heel Genius is pretty good stuff!
And the last and final step, of course, is the polish. Sally Hansen Insta Dri is just about all I can handle. This stuff dries at lightning speed! So fast, I cant even manage to mess it up! And also works great for when you are actually already dressed and go to slip on your open-toed shoes and realize those savage things need panting! It will literally dry in the time it takes me to walk to my closet and pick out my shoes. Can I get an Amen?!
And just like that, your feet are semi-presentable again and. I have to admit, feeling pretty amazing!
